This Privacy Policy describes how the WhatsApp Contact Extractor Chrome extension ("the Extension"), developed by Astra Web Developers, collects, uses, and protects your information. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices.

Data We Collect

The Extension collects and processes the following data:

  • Email address: provided voluntarily by the user to verify subscription status and process payments.
  • WhatsApp Web contact data: contact names, phone numbers, country codes, business status, labels, and last message metadata. This data is read directly from the WhatsApp Web interface and exported locally as a CSV file.
  • Subscription status: whether the user has an active PRO subscription.

How We Use Your Data

  • Email address: to verify your subscription status and to create payment sessions through Stripe.
  • Contact data: processed entirely on your device. Contact information is never sent to our servers. The CSV file is generated locally in your browser.
  • Subscription status: to determine whether to show full phone numbers (PRO) or masked data (Free) in the export.

Data Storage

Your email address is stored locally in Chrome's storage API so you don't have to re-enter it each time. Your subscription record (email, subscription status, and Stripe customer ID) is stored securely in our backend database (Convex) to verify your subscription. WhatsApp contact data is never stored on our servers — it is processed entirely in your browser and exported directly as a CSV file.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Stripe (stripe.com): for secure payment processing. Stripe receives your email and payment information. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data they process.
  • Convex (convex.dev): for backend hosting and subscription verification. Only your email and subscription status are stored.

No Sale of Data

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or creditworthiness purposes. Your WhatsApp contact data never leaves your browser.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All communications between the Extension and our backend are encrypted via HTTPS. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment provider.

Your Rights

  • Delete your account: contact us at the email below and we will remove all your data from our systems.
  • Export your data: you can request a copy of the data we store about you.
  • Opt out: you can stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from Chrome.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
